SuperGrok Price 2026: Old vs New Plans & Costs

Last checked: October 29, 2026. New-plan prices and current subscription rules are based on xAI’s October 12 announcement and official pricing pages. Legacy plan prices are based on third-party historical records where official current pricing is unavailable. Your actual price and eligibility may vary depending on your existing subscription and checkout options.

The SuperGrok price is confusing right now, and that is not on you. On October 12, 2026, xAI folded Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor Pro, and X Premium into one system called The X Subscription. Most articles still mix the two systems, which is why the same search returns $8, $30, and $300 without telling you which one applies to you.

The short answer to the SuperGrok price question:

  • New buyers can only purchase The X Subscription: Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200 per month. Annual plans cost 10 months' worth up front.
  • The $30 SuperGrok price still exists as a legacy plan. Existing subscribers keep it, and it is closed to new sign-ups.

Two rules catch people out. Old plans are not for sale to new users at any price. Switching from a legacy plan ends the selected old subscription and starts The X Subscription. Eligible subscriptions receive a prorated refund for unused time. Review the plan differences and refund terms before switching. The switch section below spells this out before you touch billing settings.

All figures are US list prices in USD, tax excluded, from xAI's pricing page and pricing docs. Regional taxes and currency conversion change the final charge.

Three notes on the SuperGrok price table:

  • The annual column is a discount, not a price cut: 10 months for 12, so roughly $7, $25, $84, and $167 effective monthly. Taxes are added at checkout.
  • Premium's description carries the clue. xAI says it includes "the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, previously $90/month combined." That is why $30 looks familiar: it is the old SuperGrok price carried into the new system.
  • Teams pay the same per seat on Premium, Super, and Ultra; Plus has no team option.

Old SuperGrok vs The X Subscription: Who Can Still Buy What

Old planMonthlyStatus now
X Premiumabout $8Kept by existing subscribers; closed to new sign-ups
SuperGrok Lite$10Same
SuperGrok$30Same; xAI says new Premium carries its benefits
X Premium+$40Same; xAI notes new Plus would drop some benefits
SuperGrok Plus$100Same
SuperGrok Heavy$300Same; no direct equivalent in the new system

The old monthly prices come from third-party records of xAI's legacy pricing pages, which no longer exist, so confirm yours in billing settings.

On eligibility, the official wording is blunt: "The previous plans are no longer available for new sign-ups," and "New customers, including anyone with only a free X account, start on The X Subscription." Both lines are in the October 12 announcement. So for new buyers, the SuperGrok price menu starts at $8.

Existing subscribers hear "Nothing changes" from xAI: keep your plan, price, and features, and the legacy SuperGrok price you signed at keeps renewing until you change or cancel it. Old plans will migrate eventually, xAI says, with advance notice. No timetable has been published, so treat "SuperGrok is shutting down" posts as speculation.

One mapping fact to keep straight. xAI states one handover only: new Premium ($30) carries old SuperGrok's ($30) benefits. It says nothing about Lite, Plus, or Heavy. Some articles assume Super matches SuperGrok Plus or Ultra matches Heavy; xAI has not said that. The model history behind the reorganization is in our Grok 4.5 overview.

What $30 Buys and Where the Limits Are

Under The X Subscription, Grok and Cursor share a weekly usage pool covering Grok chat, Imagine, voice, and Grok Bot. Legacy SuperGrok subscriptions may have different usage rules, so check your account for the limits that apply to your plan. xAI does not publish absolute quotas in its announcement or pricing docs, only multipliers of Plus: Premium is 4x, Super 15x, Ultra 50x. Treat any "X messages per day" figure as an estimate, not an official number.

Where the tiers differ:

  • Grok Bot starts at Premium; Plus users do not get it.
  • Imagine and video allowances scale with the multipliers, so higher tiers get more headroom before the weekly pool runs dry.
  • API usage never touches the pool. It bills separately per token (grok-4.7: $2 per million input, $6 per million output, double over 200K tokens). Do not use API rates to turn your subscription into a per-generation cost; they are priced in different units.
  • Cursor's third-party models (Claude, GPT) open at Premium and bill at API list price from the first use.

Whether that pool is worth the SuperGrok price depends on your weekly volume. If you keep hitting the wall, our Grok rate limit guide covers how the weekly reset behaves.

Which X Subscription Plan Is Worth It? Who Should Skip It

Match the SuperGrok price to your week, not to the feature list:

Your situationFitsWhy
Occasional chats, a few imagesFree or Plus $8Base pool covers light use; Plus adds X perks
Daily use, wants Grok Bot and Cursor ProPremium $30Bot starts here; 4x pool; the old $30 benefits carried in
Heavy Imagine or video workSuper $10015x pool; frequent video burns a 4x pool fast
Teams or maximum limitsUltra $20050x pool; per-seat team pricing

If you open Grok a few times a week, the Free tier plus patience beats every paid option. A SuperGrok price of $0 is hard to argue with.

For contrast, ChatGPT Plus is $20. The $30 SuperGrok price has to earn the extra $10 with Grok Bot, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+ perks. Live in Cursor or want bot automation? The math works. Want one good chatbot? It does not. Our SuperGrok worth-it breakdown and ChatGPT Plus worth-it guide go through both verdicts.

How to Pay Less for SuperGrok in 2026

  1. Annual billing. Pay for 10 months upfront instead of 12 on eligible paid tiers. Existing subscribers should also check their billing settings for any limited-time switching offers from xAI.
  2. Down-tier honestly. If a 4x pool keeps going unused, the SuperGrok price you need is $8 Plus, not $30 Premium. Check a normal week's usage in billing settings first.
  3. Third-party routes, marked non-official. When cost or payment blocks the official path, two kinds of services exist.

Shared SuperGrok accounts. FamilyPro offers a third-party shared SuperGrok account in 4-person shared or Private form, for 1 or 3 months, payable by Alipay or USDT. Not an official product, and the terms are blunt: the password can change after risk control, chat history may be visible to others on the account, Imagine quota is shared, and changing the password or enabling 2FA yourself can lock the account. Refunds on quota purchases carry fees. If you want a private, isolated account, buy direct from xAI or use the option below.

Third-party subscription payment services. FamilyPro's Grok subscription payment service completes an official subscription payment on your behalf when local cards or regional limits get in the way. It handles the payment step only; xAI's prices stay the same. Check the current quote on the product page before deciding.

How to Subscribe or Switch: Steps, Risks and Payment Blockers

If you are on a legacy plan, read this first: switching to The X Subscription ends the selected old subscription and starts the new plan. Eligible subscriptions receive a prorated refund for unused time. Review the plan differences and refund terms before switching. Finish the three checks below before you click anything.

On a legacy plan, verify first, decide second:

  1. Open billing settings and note your plan name, monthly price, features, and auto-renewal status.
  2. Compare against the new tiers. xAI only vouches for the $30-to-$30 handover; everything else you compare on your own.
  3. Still want to switch? Follow the new-buyer steps below. If the SuperGrok price in your billing settings matches what you signed at and you use the features, staying put is a valid answer.

New buyers:

  1. Open x.ai/pricing and pick Plus, Premium, Super, or Ultra. Free needs no purchase.
  2. Sign in and connect your X account; paid X perks bind to the connected account.
  3. Checkout by card. The SuperGrok price at checkout should match the table above, plus regional tax. Annual bills at the 10-month rate.
  4. After activation, check billing settings for the plan name and usage pool display.

Payment blockers:

  • No international card: weigh a foreign-currency card (you carry the compliance risk) against a third-party subscription payment service (non-official, verify terms yourself), as described above.
  • App Store subscribers: switching cancels the Grok, Bot, and X Premium in-app purchases, but Apple controls those refunds. Cursor's App Store subscription is not canceled for you; unsubscribe in iOS settings.
  • Region: prices and availability vary by country. Trust the checkout page over any list, including ours.

SuperGrok Price FAQs

Can I still buy SuperGrok in 2026?

Not as a new customer. The official FAQ says the previous plans are no longer available for new sign-ups, so new buyers get The X Subscription at $8 to $200. If you already subscribe, your plan keeps renewing at the SuperGrok price you signed at until you change or cancel it.

Is SuperGrok the same as X Subscription Premium?

For the $30 tier, close. xAI says new Premium carries old SuperGrok's benefits, previously $90 a month combined with Cursor Pro and X Premium+. For Lite, Plus, and Heavy, no official mapping exists.

Why does the SuperGrok price show $8 on the site but $30 in my billing?

Three things wear those numbers. $8 is new Plus: Base usage, no Grok Bot. $30 is new Premium: 4x Plus, Bot included. $30 can also be your legacy SuperGrok plan renewing. Check the plan name in billing settings.

Does SuperGrok include Grok Bot and video generation?

In the new system, Grok Bot starts at Premium; Plus does not include it. Imagine and video allowances exist on all paid tiers and scale with the Plus multipliers. For legacy plans, check your account page.

Is there a cheaper way to pay the SuperGrok price?

Officially: annual billing and honest down-tiering. Non-officially: shared accounts split one account's cost across seats, and subscription payment services handle checkout when your card or region cannot. Both are non-official, with real trade-offs: shared quotas, account-privacy exposure, terms you must verify yourself. Neither changes what xAI charges. Choose based on whether lowest cost or a private account matters more.
